Massapequa Youth Lacrosse Club news
Following are recent results for Massapequa Lacrosse Club games:

Weekend of 4/16 & 17

The 5th grade Mis’Chiefs played at home against Garden City. The Mis’Chiefs came away with a hard fought victory (10-5). A fine defensive game was turned in by Karina Limanni, Erica Dunn and Grace Kramer. The offense was led by Kelsey O'Brien (3 goals), Megan Burrows (2 goals), Cassie Sadoff (2 goals) and Andrea Bourgal, Maddie Pimental, Kelsey Kranz each had 1 goal. For the 2nd straight game the goalie play led by Annie Kelly and Brittany Mathias was outstanding.

•The 6th Grade Bulldogs lost a tough one to a good Manhasset team 10-9. Coach Egan would like to point out that the Bulldogs Goaltenders: Christina Fiorinelli and Deanna Hussey were outstanding. Coach Egan reports that game balls went to Danielle Jaycox and Victoria Maffeo on offense and Brianne Kranz and Vanessa Capobianco on defense.

Weekend of 4/9 &10

Massapequa PAL's girl's lacrosse teams fared pretty well during the 1st week of the season. The 3rd grade Blizzards‚ won the first game they ever played against Manhasset, 5-2. Coach Richie reports that they received an outstanding performance from the entire team.

The 3rd & 4th grade girls faced an experienced Half Hollow Hills East team that put 7 goals on the board against 4 for Massapequa. Coach Matt is undeterred; "The girls never gave up and we had 4 different girls score a goal, it just wasn't our day".

The 5th grade Mis’Chiefs girl's lacrosse team played a very aggressive Manhasset team. The Mis’Chiefs came away with an 8-7 victory. Both Annie Kelly and Brittany Mathias played great in goal. Kelsey O’Brien scored 3 goals and Nicole Scicutella added 2 goals.

The 6th grade Bulldogs went to Wantagh, where they had never won previously and came away with a hard fought 10-6 victory. The team as a whole made few mistakes, and sustained pressure on their opponents throughout the game. Game Balls went out to Keri Watson and Jackie Kennedy on offense and Morgan Murphy and Christina Fiorinelli on Defense. Coach Egan points out that Morgan Murphy could easily have been awarded a game ball on offense as well. Big time contributions were made by Tina Egan on offense and Kelly Westerman on defense. Nicole Boylan played an all around outstanding game at midfield as well.
