On November 4, at 11 a.m. a celebration of life in memory of Carolyn M. Fiori will be held in the Little Theater at Massapequa High School, 4925 Merrick Rd., Massapequa.

Carolyn Fiore, of Massapequa, was president of the New York State PTA and represented the state organization on the National PTA Board of Directors. For many years, she gave of her time and energy in working in the interest of children.

In addition to her lifelong involvement with PTA, Fiori was a member of ITV Committee of Channel 21, the Long Island public broadcasting station and chaired its bylaws committee. She served on school and community relations, family live advisory, finance and other committees and was a member of the American Institute of Parliamentarians.

She and her husband George raised two sons in the Massapequa community. She was also recently recognized by the New York State Assembly for her distinguished service, excellence in education and to the children of Nassau County and the State of New York.
