 Massapequa Fire Department, Companies 4 and 6 honored Ex-Chief Joseph Wulforst as Firefighter of the Year at a dinner held in his honor. Nassau County Legislator Peter J. Schmitt, the Republican Delegation Leader, presented a special Nassau County legislative citation which proclaimed March 2 as "Joe Wulforst Day" in Nassau County in recognition of his 37 years of volunteer service as a firefighter in Nassau County.
