Students Honor School Nurse
Students in Plainedge’s John H. West Elementary School presented a beautiful poster and plaque to school nurse Grace Ciampi, in recognition of National School Nurses’ Day, January 24. Each class contributed a phrase or several words describing Ciampi and computer teacher Debbie Fallon worked with students to put it all together surrounding her picture on a poster. Among the accolades describing their school nurse, children said she is, "calm and calming, patient, caring, great at healing sadness, helpful hero and waits to eat her lunch until we feel better." One class added, "we love to visit her especially when we aren’t sick." According to Principal Jeffrey Faust, it was a well-deserved tribute for a great school nurse.
