•Free tax assistance for senior citizens will again be available and continue through the tax season on a first come, first served basis. It will be held at the Central Avenue Library, Thursdays, through April 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the Harbor Lane Library, it will be held Fridays, February 9 through April 13, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives from Tax-Aide, a free income tax counseling service, sponsored by the American Association of Retired Persons, will be available. Please bring your tax package, W-2 forms, interest/dividend statements and all other information that will be helpful in correctly determining your tax refund. A copy of last year’s return will also be helpful.

•The Board of Trustees of the Massapequa Public Library will hold its regular monthly meeting Monday, April 9, 7:45 p.m. at the Harbor Lane library.

•Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be at the library, Wednesdays, 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays, 1 to 4 p.m. through April. These volunteers will be assisting in the preparation of your tax returns on a first-come, first-served basis, free of charge. Please bring a copy of last year’s tax returns, W-2s, 1099s and interest statements as well as any other necessary financial information.
