As they go to work on an average day,

simple as can be,

The horror that lies just ahead,

no one can foresee.

It strikes like thunderous lightning,

swift out of the blue,

My God, My God, their cries are heard,

can all of this be true.

We watch in total disbelief

as they attack our second twin.

Total disregard, no respect for life,

for the lives that dwell within.

The panic is reality now,

compounded by their fall.

People scrambling everywhere,

tragedy felt by all.

Ingrained in their minds and hearts,

survivors continue on,

Remembering those who had no time,

or place for safety to run.

Heavy hearts cry out in anguish,

for their loved ones, heroes evermore.

And we will fight for each and every one,

we will fight to our core.

Rises a cloud of fire and smoke,

where the brothers once proudly stood

Destroyed by evil forces,

with their hatred for all things good

Through all the chaos, professionals and volunteers,

come from everywhere.

To help and share their labor and love,

amid all the despair.

We’re talking and walking a little slower now,

trying to process this through.

We did it before and we will do it again.

It is what Americans can do.

Did they think they were clever,

choosing American and United for their deed.

Americans are more united now,

for we live by that creed.

We have been attacked by air before,

by an enemy who is now our friend.

And we will win this time too,

for good always wins in the end.

Countries all around the world,

are uniting with us in our fight.

Because they know America,

is on the side of right.

So Americans stand united,

even stronger than before.

For this is American Brotherhood

that no one can ignore.
