Cecilia Fuccello, 80, resident of Massapequa for thirty years; local banking employee

Cecilia Fuccello, a resident of Massapequa since 1961, died September 18, 2001. She was 80 years old.

Mrs. Fuccello, who was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, worked for Franklin National Bank (now Citibank) on Hicksville Road, Massapequa for many years. She was one of the first tellers hired when the bank opened. She stayed on as the bank celebrated its 25th and 30th anniversaries and retired in 1983.

"She was very proud to have worked there for so long and many people knew her," said her daughter Maria Kallas of Massapequa. "My mother had a wonderful personality and people who met her, remembered her."

Mrs. Fuccello enjoyed playing bingo and taking trips to Atlantic City. She also spent time in St. Petersburg, Florida where she owned a condominium.

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Fuccello is survived by her son-in-law Dennis and her grandchildren, Jon, Jennifer and Amanda. Three sisters; Theresa Devito of Brooklyn, Rose Giammarino of Massapequa and Anne Libroia of Westbury also survive her as does a brother Ronald Tortora of Hauppauge.

Mrs. Fuccello was predeceased by her husband Joseph and by her sisters Angel and Olga and a brother Jimmy.

She reposed at the James Funeral Home, 540 Broadway, Massapequa until September 21 when a funeral mass was said at St. William the Abbott R.C. Church. Interment followed in Holy Rood Cemetery.
