Art students remember attack
2002-01-02 / Schools/Sports
Following the Attack on America, Stephen Lamia, a professor in the visual arts department of Dowling College wanted to help his students cope with the tragic events. He asked them to transfer their feelings onto a canvas. The resulting artwork is both poignant and reflective of what many Americans and New Yorkers felt. From patriotic themes and collages of the Manhattan skyline, to World Trade Center tributes, the Dowling students’ artwork captures a moment in American history as great art often does.
In the picture is the artwork of Melanie R. McGuinness of Massapequa.
