AP scholar awards announced

A total of 22 Plainedge seniors and recent graduates have been named AP Scholars by the College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the college level Advanced Placement exams. Students took the exams, which are graded on a scale of one to five, in May 2002.

Thirteen students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by earning an average grade of three or higher on three or more AP exams. Students are seniors Lisa Forthofer, Jason Rothauser, Alana Siegel and Trevor Yannace and graduates Christopher Abruzzo, Elizabeth Babyatsky, Vanessa Cudabac, Leigh Fisher, Mario Gonzales, Bernadette Petro, Patrick Smith, Christopher Sturges and Grace Yoon.

The Scholar With Honor designation for students who earned an average grade of at least 3.25 and grades of three or higher on four or more exams was earned by seniors Anthony Gisonda and Jennifer Menasha and graduates Lori Houde, Danielle Joset and Jerry Yuen.

The Scholar With Distinction award, for students who earned an average grade of at least 3.5 and grades of three or higher on five or more exams, was awarded to graduates Michael Clyne, Francisco Isenberg, Freddie LaFemina and Michael Luongo.
