Kiwanis flag brought to top of Mt. Marcy

Kiwanis Past President Joseph Saladino, an amateur mountain climber, recently planted the American flag and the Kiwanis International flag at the top of the tallest mountain in New York State, Mt. Marcy to promote the Kiwanis Foundation World Trade Center fund. Located in the Adirondacks, Mt Marcy is 5,433 feet tall.

Saladino indicated that his climb, while tough going at times, was nowhere as difficult as the challenges faced every day by those innocent families. He hoped his climb might continue the communities awareness of the ongoing needs of these families, not only financially, but through the continue gift of friendship and caring.

Anyone interested in donating to this local fund can write to Massapequa Kiwanis World Trade Center Foundation, P.O. Box 195, Massapequa, NY 11758.
