Marilyn J. Jelicks, resident of Massapequa
Marilyn J. Jelicks, a 50-year resident of Massapequa and formerly of Amityville, died September 20, 2003 at Mercy Medical Center Rockville Centre.
She was born in Syracuse to James and Dorothy Buck Chavoustie. After completing her education, she became a teacher and worked for the Amityville Union Free School District, where she taught for 23 years primarily in the Park Avenue School. Mrs. Jelicks retired in 1986. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Amityville and was a member of the Woman’s Club of Massapequa.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles R. Jelicks of Massapequa; her mother, Dorothy Chavoustie of Syracuse; her son, Charles, Jr. of Farmingdale; her daughter, Holly P. Peco and her husband Michael of Massapequa; her daughter Jennifer Alonso and her husband Andy of Massapequa; her grandson Charles R. Jelicks, III of Amityville; her granddaughter Alison E. Jelicks of Amityville; her granddaughter, Brooke E. Peco of Massapequa; her grandson Michael G. Peco, Jr. of Massapequa; her grandson Lucas C. Alonso of Massapequa and her brother James Chavoustie of Syracuse.
A prayer service was said September 24. Reverend Erik A. Rasmussen, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiated a the funeral service held at the Powell Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville on September 25, 2003.
