Local Massapequa artist to hold show in NYC

Yvonne Dagger has been painting almost all of her life. Raised and living in Massapequa, Dagger receives much of her inspiration from her childhood as well as her daily life. Now her work is featured in a show at Michael Perez Pop Art Gallery.

Dagger’s abstract paintings of New York City street scenes, are rich with color and texture, symbolizing the multicultural society that New York City is. Dagger’s paintings and drawings reveal the way she perceives life. Her work is an invitation, calling on viewers to examine everyday moments, experiences and emotions.

Dagger’s work has been recognized and displayed at the Heckscher Museum in Huntington, is in the permanent collection of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Center and in galleries throughout the Northeast. She has also received the Prudential Wheeler Award for the arts. To add to her diversification, she has illustrated a textbook on astronomy.
