Ceremony honors attainment of Eagle Scout rank
Troop 90, of Massapequa, announced the recent Eagle ceremony held to honor the attainment of the rank of Eagle Scout by Timothy Bates and Brian McIntyre. Bates is the son of John and Maryann Bates and McIntyre is the son of Herb and Rosemary McIntyre. The ceremony was held at the R.J. Lockhart School and was well-attended by local officials and politicians. Presentations were made by Town Supervisor John Venditto, Nassau County Councilman Peter Schmitt and Detective Steven McDonald.
Bates is a senior at Kellenberg High School and McIntyre is a senior at Massapequa High School. Bates’ Eagle project involved the organizing, implementation and execution of a beach grass planting project at Tobay Beach. McIntyre raised funds for, organized the design, construction, installation and renovation of benches at Lockhart Elementary School. McIntyre and Bates have been friends since kindergarten and it was a great honor and joy for them to celebrate their ascension to Eagle Scout together.
