Two nights after the June 29 meeting, JulietJordan-Thompson and Michelle Sikhrangkur were sworn into office, ending the MAC Pack majority and establishing a new alliance of Jordan-Thompson, Sikhrangkur, Egglinger and Walters. Their supporters brought bouquets and cameras, and celebrated what they described as a great victory for the school district.

"From now on, things will be different," said Jordan-Thompson. "We will think of children first."

In addition, Egglinger was tapped for president with Walters as First Vice President in a 4-2 vote with Cahaney and Andrews voting no. Absent from the meeting was Trustee Connie Palazzo.

Nominated as second vice president was Jordan-Thompson and again the vote was 4-2, but this time Andrews drew a round of laughter when polled. She leaned forward, pulled the microphone to her and said loudly, "absolutely not."
