A vote for Bush is a vote for America’s security
Dear Editor:
Our President George W. Bush is a smart, well-educated person with a degree from Yale and a master’s degree from Harvard University. He earned 15 million dollars as the managing partner of the Texas Rangers Major League baseball team. George W. Bush and the New York Yankees George Steinbrenner have a lot in common. Also, George W. Bush was twice elected governor of our second largest state, area and population.
President Bush is the leader of the free world and he is in the process of introducing democracy and freedom to Iraq and the Middle East. This is vital if we hope to preserve peace and free trade in the Middle East.
Our nation cannot exist, isolated from the Middle East. To bring our troops home is not an option at this time. What we are doing is the way we should go for lasting peace.
Our late President John F. Kennedy stated "The cost of freedom is always high, but Americans have always paid it. And one path we shall never choose is the path of surrender or submission."
Former Mayor Edward I. Koch supports President George W. Bush for reelection. On June 19, he stated on the radio that "Bush is the only candidate with the stomach to stand up to international terrorism." That is saying it all.
Ernest A. Howell.
