•For the month of October works by the Italian Cultural Society will be displayed in the Gallery.

Plainedge

•An introduction to scrapbooking will be held Monday, October 18, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Patricia Smith, an independent consultant for Creative Memories, will demonstrate how to transform your boxes of pictures into a photo-safe album. The cost is $5. Bring eight to 10 photos to be included in a project for the autumn season. Sign up is underway. Class is limited to 30 students.

•The Library has introduced BookLetters, which merges reading with on-line delivery. BookLetters informs you about the latest book in categories such as new fiction, romance, mystery, nature, lifestyle and business. Items can then be requested from the Library’s on-line card catalog in one easy step. BookLetters can be reached online at www.suffolk.lib.ny.us/libraries/amty/. You can also subscribe to any list; it will be emailed to you on a regular basis.
