The Amityville community will celebrate the opening of the New Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School on Saturday, October 16, beginning 10 a.m.

The facility, which is fully renovated and houses 700 students, opened the first day of school in September to rave reviews.

A history of the building will be provided by local historian Seth Purdy. There will be speakers and refreshments and the public is cordially invited to attend, said School officials. Photo by Joe Turner
