Steve Bernheim named L.I. Transportation Managements Board Chairman for third term

Long Island Transportation Management (LITM) has appointed Steve Bernheim, a Massapequa resident, to an unprecedented third term as Board Chairman. In his past two terms, Bernheim, a litigation consultant with over 25 years professional experience in safety management, accident analysis and sports and recreation risk assessment, has brought solid success to LITM whose mission is to decrease traffic congestion and pollution by promoting voluntary commuter alternatives.

Bernheim, who is also president of Sports and Recreation Consultants, Inc. is a legal expert in accidents caused by faulty equipment, improper supervision, poor facilities, non-adherence to standards and human error. He is a Board Certified Forensic Examiner Fellow and member of the American College of Forensic Examiners, New York State Vice President of the National Safety Management Society, serves as an adjunct professor of business at the State University of New York, serves as an adjunct professor of athletic administration at St. John’s University, a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and author of the book, The Road to Glory, among numerous other accomplishments. Additionally, Bernheim currently serves as lieutenant governor of Kiwanis and international risk manager for Kiwanis International as well as being a past distinguished lieutenant governor of the organization. Bernheim is married to Nassau County attorney, Nancy Bernheim.
