•For the month of April, an exhibit of painting by local artist Rhoda Yucht Kaplan will be on display in the Downstairs Gallery. An artists’ reception will be held Saturday, April 2, 2 to 5 p.m.

•AARP mature driving and defensive driving for all ages is offered on an ongoing basis. Contact the library for details.
•Nicole Tzen will teach yoga, Thursday, April 7, 6 p.m. The class is geared to all fitness levels to increase strength, flexibility and decrease stress. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a towel or yoga mat. Bringing water is recommended. The $5 fee is payable by check only to the Farmingdale Public Library. Registration is required.
•Hypnotherapist Michael Pekor will offer an introduction on what hypnosis is and the conditions it can help treat, Thursday, April 7, 7 p.m. Seating is first come, first served.
•Charles Van Horn will teach a drawing class Thursday, April 7, 7 p.m. Basic drawing techniques will be taught and techniques of the masters will be analyzed. Registration is required. The $10 fee is payable by check only to the Farmingdale Public Library.
•On Sunday, April 10, 2 p.m. Jim McClenahan will perform magic and comedy along with audience participation. Seating is first come, first served.
•A parent support group will be held Tuesday, April 12, 7 p.m. to help parents with special needs children. All are welcome.
•Family game night will be held Wednesday, April 13, 7 p.m. Bring the whole family for an evening of fun.

•Artwork from Amityville Schools will be on display at the library throughout the school year. For the month of April the library will showcase artwork from Amityville Memorial High School teacher Sue Amato.
•Tax Assistance volunteers (VITA) from Hofstra University will be at the Library Sunday, April 10, 1 to 4 p.m. to assist individuals in preparing their tax returns. Individuals are asked too bring their W-2 forms and last year’s tax returns. Volunteers will assist individuals on a first-come, first-serve basis. No registration is necessary.
