Eagle Scout Project benefits St. Rose

Recently Steven Rozea, from Troop 776, planned, organized and carried out his Eagle Scout Project. His project benefited the St. Rose Outreach and Food Pantry. With the help from members of Troop 776, he collected over 1,300 items from generous donations made by people shopping at the Stop-N-Shop in Southgate Mall in Massapequa Park. The people were handed a flyer with needed items as they entered the store and the troop collected the donated items as the people came out. He also received over $600 in donations, which he used to buy additional items the Food Pantry needed. This project was carried out after the Christmas holiday, at a time when the pantry badly needed to be restocked.
