Margaret "Marge" Giller was described by her son as always happy and a positive influence in everyone’s lives. "She was a very special and courageous lady," said her son, David.

Although her daughter died at a young age and her leg had to be amputated, there was never a day she felt sorry for herself, according to her family.

Mrs. Margaret Giller (nee Kestenbaum) died September 19, 2005. She was 91 years old. From 1955 to 1968 she lived on Central Avenue in North Massapequa. During her time in the community she founded a Massapequa Cancer Care chapter.

She later lived in Riverside and then moved to Boca Raton, Florida.

Mrs. Giller leaves behind her sons Michael of Smithtown and David of New York City; her siblings: Dinah Needle, Ruth Shapiro and Harold Kestenbaum; her grandchildren: Todd, Yolanda, Ronald, Geri, Lee and Randi; her great grandchildren: Brett, Alex, Jacob, Reese and Amanda. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Isaac and her daughter, Trudi.

Mrs. Giller reposed at I.J. Morris in Dix Hills followed by a private burial ceremony.
