Ana Maria Garcia, who dedicated her life to taking care of her family, lived in Massapequa for 40 years. Mrs. Garcia died March 22, 2006 at Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home in West Islip. She was 99 years old.

Born in Savena-Grande, Puerto Rico on October 11, 1906 to Juan Maria Rierra and later moved to Long Island.

Mrs. Garcia leaves behind her daughter, Edith Bayon and her husband Leonard of Massapequa; her granddaughters: Patricia Bayon and Madeline Sabala and her husband

Michael; her great grandchildren: Michael, Kristen and Alex Sabala. She is predeceased by her husband and her son, Victor Flecha.

A Catholic prayer service was conducted at the Powell Funeral Home, Inc., 67 Broadway, Amityville, on March 23, 2006. Rev. Father Richard Stelter, Pastor, St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, officiated at the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, March 24, assisted by the Consolation Ministry and members of the family. Interment followed in Pinelawn Memorial Park.
