John T. O'Sullivan, longtime Massapequa Park resident
John T. O'Sullivan died July 9, 2006 after a brave and courageous battle with Mesothelioma. Beloved and adored husband of Barbara J. (Youngman) O'Sullivan, he was 74 years old, and a longtime resident of Massapequa Park.
Born in the Bronx, he grew up in Queens. He was a proud United
States Navy Veteran serving
on board the USS New Jersey BB62 and USS Missouri BB63 in Korea during the Korean War. He was a life member of VFW Post 7277, and retired from Kolpen Distributors Inc., and a previous 28 year employee of H.C. Bohack doing set up and inventory control.
Mr. O'Sullivan is the son of the late Katherine and Dennis O'Sullivan, and the son-in-law of the late Frances C. and Theodore C. Youngman Jr. He is the brother of Eileen Mitchell, Julia Burrowes and the late Dennis O'Sullivan; dear brother-inlaw of John K. Youngman and his wife Mary-Lynn, Theodore C. Youngman III and his wife Fran, Joan M. Youngman and Ruth O'Sullivan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.
He reposed at the Massapequa Funeral Home North Chapel, 1050 Park Blvd., Massapequa Park. Services were held there Wednesday and Thursday, July 12 and 13, 2006. On Friday, July 14, 2006, a funeral mass was said at St. Rose of Lima. R.C. Church, Massapequa, officiated by Rev. Msgr. Dan Hurley. Interment was in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.
