The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

On Thursday, September 7, the Paul Gatto Jazz band will perform 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lower level.
On Thursday, September 21, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. the library is offering a trip to cruise on the Hudson River and tour Grand Central Terminal. The cost is $74 per person. Registration continues until the bus fills.

Registration is underway for the Little Patrons' Enrichment Program which is designed to help with separation anxiety and build readiness for kindergarten. Openings are available in the threeand four-year-old programs. For information contact Pat Unruh at the Library.

A program in Hatha Yoga will be offered Thursdays, September 7, 14, 21 and 28 and October 5 and 12, 10:30 a.m. to noon. The fee is $23 payable by check or money order to the Amityville Public Library. Instructor Yamuna Bazyte teachers the program which works the whole body, mind and spirit to promote strength and flexibility. Registration is required.
Computer kindergarten is being offered Thursday, September 7, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The fee is $5 payable by check or money order to the Amityville Public Library. This is a slow-paced, user-friendly workshop for first-time users.
The Long Island Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra will perform Tuesday, September 12, 7 to 8 p.m. The orchestra is conducted by director Antoniana Nigrelle and assistant director Charles Sloan.
The Visiting Nurse Service will be in the main reading room of the library on Wednesday, September 13, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to conduct blood pressure screenings free of charge, on a first-come,. firstserved basis.
