Graduate of MHS helps Philadelphia Barrage claim championship
Matt Zash, a former All-America midfield at Duke, scored one goal and scooped up six ground balls to help the Philadelphia Barrage claim the 2006 Major League Lacrosse championship with a 23-12 victory over Denver on Sunday, August 27 in Carson, California.
Zach, who was credited with 11 ground balls in Philadelphia's 17-10 semifinal win over Boston and netted the first goals of the championship contest less than three minutes into the opening quarter.
Zash is a 2002 graduate of Massapequa High School and a 2006 graduate of Duke University.
