The Harbor Lane Library offers programs on an ongoing basis including aerobics and toning classes, Mondays, 7:30 p.m.; Tournament Scrabble, Mondays, 11 a.m.; Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m.; strength training classes for seniors, Monday mornings, 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, 10:30 a.m; Mah Jongg, Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; line dancing, Fridays, 10:30 a.m. and Let's Talk, a discussion group for seniors, Friday, 1 p.m. Contact the Library for details.

The Harbor Lane Library will host a workshop on Compassionate Communication presented by Carol Fealey, M.S., on Thursdays, November 2 and 9, 7 p.m. Registration is required.

On Sunday, November 5, 2 p.m. The Sophisticated Ladies will be giving a musical performance at the Harbor Lane Library. Performers Anita Jacobs and Bernice Zimny will take a sentimental journey back to the 1940s and the sounds of the big bands.

The Harbor Lane Library will host a poetry reading by Poets in Nassau on November 9, 7:30 p.m. You can come up and read your own poetry after the performance.

The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation.

On Thursday, November 2, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Paul Gatto Jazz Band will perform on the lower level.

The Short Story Group will meet Sunday, Monday, November 6, 10:30 a.m. for a lively discussion. Copies are available at the reference desk.

Playtime at My Fun Place will be held Monday, November 6, 7 p.m. for special needs of all ages and their families. This is a fun-filled program of play and art. Registration is required.

On Wednesday, November 8, noon, Ron Steiger of Woodbury Financial Network will discuss how having annuities can help you save for your retirement. Registration is required.
