At the Library... Artwork by Laura Sager will be on display for the month of October in the downstairs gallery at the Harbor Lane Library. The Harbor Lane Library will host a solar energy seminar presented by LIPA, Wednesday, October 25, 7 p.m. Registration is required by calling 1-800-692-2626. The volunteers are in the library Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to noon from Senior Connections. Help is available to find out what you can to to avoid a lot of health problems of the older generation. For the month of October there will be works by the Italian Cultural Society on display in the Gallery. Registration is underway for the Broadway show, The Drowsy Chaperone at the Marquis Theatre, Wednesday, November 15. The bus leaves 10 a.m. and returns 6 p.m. The cost of the trip is $142 for the show, lunch and transportation. On Thursday, October 19, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Paul Gatto Jazz Band will perform on the lower level. All are welcome. PJ Storytime, for all ages, will be held Thursday, October 19, 6:30 p.m. Registration is required. Friday Fun at the Library will be held Friday, October 20, 10:30 a.m. and will include songs, crafts, movies and more. Seating is first come, first served. Gino DiNapoli, the "One Man Orchestra," will perform a medley of popular Italian and American songs, Sunday, October 22, 2 p.m. Free tickets are now available. Award-winning watercolor and illustration artist Charles Van Horn will offer a program creating a painting from inception to the finished product, Monday, October 23, 7 to 9 p.m. All supplies are included free of charge. Tickets are currently available. On Tuesday, October 24, 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Stu Gershon, the Digital Doctor, will give an introduction to digital photography. He will discuss the terminology, equipment, software and the five basic rules of digital photography. Bring a pad, pencil and digital camera. Computer knowledge is required. Free tickets are currently available.
