Massapequa dentists to buy back Halloween candy

The doctors and staff of The Greater Long Island Dental Health Associates, located at 101 New York Ave., Massapequa, will be buying back Halloween candy from the neighborhood children this year. While Trick or Treating is great fun, the results of the candy are not. "In addition to the increased risk of dental cavities, the addition of large amount of sugar to their general health is never a good idea," says Kirsten Switter, one of the dental

hygienists on staff. According to Dr. James Woltmann, "Children can drop off their candy on Thursday, Friday or Saturday following Halloween. We will exchange it for a dental goodie bag and a ticket for a chance to win one of six prizes." They include gift certificates to Abercrombie, Hollister, Game Crazy, Claire's, Loews Movies and Sports Authority. The "buy back" is open to all neighborhood children. The drawing will be on Monday, November 6, 4 p.m.
