St. William the Abbot welcomes back students
A special mass was held on Monday to celebrate the start of the new school year. Each year the school community of students, teachers, family and friends gather together to give thanks and pray for God's blessings for the upcoming year. The new student leaders were inducted into the Student Council. Finally, prayers were offered for the victims and families affected by the events of September 11th, 2001. Back to School Night for parents was held on Tuesday. The welcome by Principal Anna Guardino began with thanks to the parents for trusting the education of their children to St. William's. A brief prayer service, the same that begins each child's day at St. William, was held. Welcome presentations from Home School Association president, Carlene Bryant and School Board president, Ed Lettieri reminded parents of the numerous opportunities available at the school for their involvement, support and participation.
director, Roberta Ryan who gave a presentation on the initial vision for technology development, which began some 15 years ago, and the progress to date. St. William is a fully networked building where the classrooms, library and computer lab are linked. After the presentation all parents had a chance to meet with their
children's teachers and tour the school.
