Farmingdale Reads writing contest underway

The Farmingdale Community Summit encourages authors of all ages to participate in this school year's Farmingdale Reads writing contest, which will consider work for publication in the Farmingdale Writes 2007 Fourth Anthology. The contest is open to all residents who have a connection to the communities that make up the Farmingdale School District.

The selected theme for this year's contest is "In the blink of an eye everything changed..."All entries must begin with this phrase, be no more than 500 words and fall into any of the

following categories: poetry, short story, tall tale, legend, memoir, vignette or essay. All entries become property of the Summit and submission constitutes agreement to publish the entry. Please submit your entry no later than Monday, November 27, to the following address: Farmingdale Public Schools, Directors' Office, Dr. Meryl H. Testut, Writing Contest, 50 Van Cott Ave..
