Military personnel invited to ToBay holiday concerts

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto invites residents who are currently active in the military to attend one of the Town's Holiday Concerts, during which there will be a special salute to troops. This year's concerts are being held on Monday, December 11;Tuesday, December 12 and Wednesday, December 13.

"The Holiday Concerts are unquestionably one of the most well-attended musical events the Town sponsors," Supervisor Venditto stated. "This year, we wanted to include a special patriotic tribute to our men and women in uniform, those currently active in the military. It's just one small way the Town can let our service personnel and their families know that they are supported, appreciated and remembered."

This year's holiday concerts will, once again, be held at the Tilles Center on the Long Island University - CW Post Campus. The performances will feature the Concert Pops of Long Island, under the direction of maestro Dean Karahalis, soprano Barbara Divas, baritone Lee Velta and a special appearance by the J.C. Lynn Dancers.

"Every holiday season, the Concert Pops offers an outstanding selection of festive music that gets the audience into the holiday mood," Supervisor Venditto commented. "People say the concerts can't get any better, but each year seems to be better than the last. I know this year will be no exception."

To reserve tickets for you and your family members, troops are asked to call the Department of Community and Youth Services at 797-7900.
