Friends of Massapequa Preserve event Nov. 8

On Wednesday, November 8, 7:30 p.m. Friends of Massapequa Preserve will observe their sixth anniversary by inviting commissioners from the Parks Department to share with the local community information about their activities in the Preserve and to answer questions about issues of concern.

The event will be held at the Massapequa Public Library, 40 Harbor Ln., Massapequa Park. Everyone will be given a chance to offer their input about conditions in the Preserve. Friends will also highlight and update the public on six years of progress and challenges in the Massapequa Preserve,

including future plans, such as storm water improvements and the stream enhancement/pond restoration project.

Friends of Massapequa Preserve is a local non-profit volunteer organization of over 300 concerned citizens dedicated solely to protecting, preserving and restoring these priceless 423 acres of forests, ponds and woodlands in the heart of Massapequa.

Friends of Massapequa Preserve will have a photo display on exhibit during the month of November at both branches of the Massapequa Public Library where you will also be able to pick up a copy of the group's brochure.
