Francis Ryan, of Massapequa Park, was recently honored by Advanced Hearing Center for not only being proactive in dealing with his hearing loss but also for increasing awareness regarding hearing education.
A retired technician of the Telephone company, Ryan kept the TV volume up so high that his family complained. When he heard Dr. Hoffmann speak at a retirees meeting he decided to do something about his problem. Wearing the Widex Diva hearing aids for over four years, he is a better umpire for the baseball he officiates in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. "When I was recently honored as Man of the Year at a dinner dance from the Ancient Order of Hybernians Organization, I was so happy to have heard the accolades bestowed on me, says Ryan. An advocate for better hearing, Ryan has obtained speaking engagements for Dr. Hoffmann at various groups.
Each year, Advanced Hearing Center, Albertson, pays tribute to selected patients who are determined to overcome their hearing loss and try the latest hearing technology. Many have also launched a personal campaign to spread the word about the importance of better hearing, arranged speaking engagements for the owners of the audiology facility and referred patients.
