Mabel Weeks, 90, longtime member of Massapequa Reformed Church

Mabel Weeks, a longtime West Babylon resident, helped run a family boat transfer business in addition to caring for her family. She was 90 years old when she died October 19, 2006 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip.

She was born September 4, 1916 to Albert H. and Maria (Johnson) Warde in New York, New York, and later raised her own family on Long Island.

Mrs. Weeks worked as an office manager for their boat transfer business in Lindenhurst, which she continued to run after her husbands death in 1974. She was an active and longtime member of Massapequa Reformed Church.

She leaves behind her children: William and Virginia M. Milligan; her grandchildren: Allen James and Heidi Anne Milligan; her two great grandchildren: Sarah and Paden Milligan. Her husband, Ira C., predeceased her.

The Massapequa Reformed Church officiated at a funeral service in the Powell Funeral Home, Amityville, on October 22, 2006. Mrs. Weeks was interred in the North Babylon Cemetery on October 23, 2006.
