Massapequa Red Thunder squeezes out another win
The Massapequa Red Thunder was able to squeeze out a 2-1 victory over the Oceanside Warriors this weekend. On a very wind day, the first goal of the game came off the leg of Nick Vinberg. The defense was against the windy the entire first half and had to have great efforts by Thomas Kiernan, Matt Eicher and Ryan Dashkoff. The Oceanside Warriors scored with less than a minute left in the half to tie the score. However, with the wind at their backs the Red Thunder dominated the second half with great shots by Justin Jakubowski and Pat Trupiano. Finally, Nick Leelum's shot found the back of the net and gave the Red Thunder a 2-1 victory. The win secures a third place finish and with four games to go the boys from Massapequa will make a run for the top.
