Plainedge graduate cast in leading role in Gypsy
Allie Henkel, a Plainedge High School graduate of the class of 2005, has been cast in the leading role of Gypsy Rose Lee in the musical Gypsy at the Watters Theater in Binghamton. In her freshman year at Binghamton, she was cast as Fastrada in Pippin and Caitlyn in Canterbury Tales. She was awarded the Nielsen Theater Scholarship by the theater department, a three year scholarship.
Henkel is the daughter of Phyllis Silver Henkel and the late Paul Henkel.
