Nancy Vessalico, 59: Grandchild of Marjorie R. Post

Vessalico, longtime Massapequan and granddaughter of Marjorie R. Post who was the first woman on the Town of Oyster Bay board, died September 27, 2006. She was 59 years old and lived on Clark Street.

Born in Bay Shore, she grew up in Nassau Shores, Massapequa where she attended Massapequa Schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Garden City. She worked as a ticket clerk for the Long Island Railroad and later as a nanny to Alfred, son of her friends Mark and Jeannie Marino.

Mrs. Vessalico dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren and loved nothing better than spending time with them and her friends.

She leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Andrew; her children: Christine Donohue and her husband Christopher of Massapequa Park, James and his wife Beth of Islip Terrace and Charles of Massapequa; her parents Kenneth and Marjorie Toombs of Vermont; her grandchildren: Crystal and Jake; her siblings: Leslie Bell and her husband Jim of Saratoga, Patricia Cole and her husband Alan of Vermont and Joanne Doucette and her husband Fred of Vermont; her uncle Deane Post of Massapequa; as well as other loved ones and friends.

Mrs. Vessalico reposed at the Massapequa Funeral Home, 1050 Park Blvd., on September 29, 2006 followed by private interment.
