Anthony Castaldi, hunter, sportsman and member of K of C Anthony "Tony" J. Castaldi Sr., a 30-year Seaford Knights of Columbus member and Amityville resident, died October 29, 2006. He was 70 years old. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in New City and Ozone Park, Queens before moving to Amityville in 1976. He proudly served in the Korean War based in Texas and Hawaii, according to his wife, Jean, and was very religious, holding dual parishionership at both St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in Amityville and Our Lady of Lourdes R.C. Church in Massapequa Park. An avid sportsman, he loved to hunt deer and duck Mr. Castaldi reposed at The Claude R. Boyd-Spencer and spend time on his boat in the Great South Bay where he could always be seen setting traps for shellfish. "He touched many lives and was truly loved," said Jean. Mr. Castaldi leaves behind his wife of 46 years, Jean; his son, Anthony J., Jr. of Lindenhurst; 11 nieces and nephews; 22 great nieces and nephews; his sister, Louise Randazzo of Staten Island; as well as other loved ones and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Christopher.
Funeral Home, Babylon Village, on October 31 and November 1, 2006. A Funeral Mass was held November 2, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Massapequa Park, followed by interment in St. Charles Cemetery.
