Edith Ferraro: retired Massapequa Post Office clerk

Edith Antoinette Ferraro, a North Massapequan who worked at the U.S. Post Office for many years, died October 29, 2006. She was 89 years old.

She moved from Queens Village, New York to Sussex Avenue in North Massapequa and lived there for more than 50 years.

"She was the kind of neighbor everyone should have...kind, giving and just a dear lady," said Gene Condrill who lived across the street from her for more than 20 years. "She'll be missed by this world."

Mrs. Ferraro retired in the early 1970s as a clerk for the Massapequa Post Office branch on Killians Road, off Sunrise Highway. In her spare time, she loved to garden and spend time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Ferraro leaves behind her son, Vincent J. Jr. of North Massapequa. She was predeceased by her husband of 34 years, Vincent J.

She reposed at the William E. Law Funeral Home, Massapequa, on October 30 and 31, 2006. A religious service was held at the funeral home on on November 1, 2006 followed by interment in Calverton National Cemetery.
