Massapequa Mustang Senior Division win Superbowl in fierce battle at John Burns Park

The Battle of the Bulge took place Saturday, November 4 at John J. Burns Field where the Massapequa Mustangs Ohio State Buckeyes were the survivors of a fierce battle with no prisoners taken and everything left out on the field. When the dust settled, the Mustangs took first place in the season's Superbowl.

The Ohio State buckeyes huge line with average weight of 190 pounds met a line of nearly the same size from Notre Dame. The gridiron monsters of age 11,12, and 13 opened up holes and slammed them closed. Solid defense determined the outcome.

Fullback Luke Borgese, with a sprained wrist, scored first for the Buckeyes on an option right give, where he carried 2 defenders against the grain and into the end zone in the first half.

Alex Miller broke a sweep left for 60 yards to complete the scoring, Ohio State 13, Notre Dame 0. Notre Dames big line and standout James Nelson were unable to lead a worn out Dillon Pugh into the end zone on this day.
