Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical society features Family Treasures exhibit

The Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society presents for public viewing its fall/winter exhibit, Farmingdale Family Treasures. Items from the Society’s Archives and contributions from Farmingdale residents make up this eclectic collection of household and personal articles that have been passed down from older generations, including German beer steins from the 1880s, a tea set made in occupied Japan, a wedding dress worn at a 1940 wedding, handknit cotton stockings carried to America from Italy in the 1880s and a 1993 graduation from St., Kilian’s School. Contributing to the exhibit are Farmingdale residents, Angela Fortunato, Jerry Ahern, Dr. and Mrs. Ben Giminaro, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krapp, Blanche Oakes and John McAfee. Items from the Archives include articles from the Ketcham, Powell, Turner and Bonnie and Bourguignon families. The Historical society invites the public to share an appreciation of local history.
