Arnold Workman: former Temple Sinai president

Former Massapequa resident Arnold Workman of Monroe Township, New Jersey, died November 19, 2006 at University Medical Center, Princeton, after a lengthy illness. He was 78.

Born in the Bronx, he and his wife Aida raised his family in Massapequa and worked as a publicist for Rubenstein Public Relations firm and as a editor of various trade publications. He moved to New Jersey after retiring in 1996.

According to his relatives, he spent his lifetime dedicated to his family, his faith and his profession.

Mr. Workman was a longtime member of Temple Sinai and was temple president for three years. He was a World War II veteran, a lifelong member of the Jewish War Veterans and an active member of B’Nai Brith and the Princeton Better Breather’s Club, The Concordia World Affairs, History, Finance and Astronomy Clubs as well as the Men’s Club of his congregation.

Mr. Workman leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Aida (Mason); his children: Andrew and Sari of North Brunswick, New Jersey, David and Sabina of Manhattan, Robin Persily and Marc of Marlboro, New Jersey; his grandchildren: Adam, Matt, Jesse and Chloe.

Services were held at Anshe Emeth Memorial Temple followed by interment in Mount Eden Cemetery in Hawthorne, New Jersey.
