Giving begins at Berner Middle School...

In what has become an important tradition in their school, students at Berner Middle School in Massapequa collected 1,073 pounds of food during their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. This massive undertaking involved the collective efforts of students, staff and parents, along with Long Island Cares. This local organiza- tion provides emergency food for the needy, sponsors programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educates the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island.
