Massapequa and Farmingdale runners score 14th in annual Rob's Run in Syosset

A record field of 530 intrepid cross country runners showed up to take part in the 14th annual Rob's Run through the trails of Stillwell Woods in Syosset.

Runners from the Massapequa and Farmingdale areas were well represented in the 2006 edition of the Run. Jen Campbell of South Farmingdale was the fifth woman overall to cross the finish line and took home the first place award in the women's 20 to 24 age group. Trisha Fasini of North Massapequa scored second in the women's 25 to 29 age group. Karen Conkling of Massapequa Park earned top honors among the women in the 40 to 44 age group. Seventy-five-year-old Howard Kestenbaum of Massapequa Park, was the oldest finisher and scored first in the 75 and over age group.

In the team competition, t h e Massapequa M u d d e r s , made up of Richard Bury, R a y m o n d Aures, Karen Conklin and P a u l a MacCulloch, took third place in the Coed Masters Team competition.

The race will be held next year on Sunday, November 25, 2007 for the 15th annual edition of Rob's Run.
