Mike and Margaret Marcantano celebrate 65th Anniversary

It all started long ago on a park bench in Brooklyn where a teenage couple had to decide whether to share a hot chocolate or use their money for a warm ride home. On January 3, 2007, Mike and Marge Marcantano, Massapequa residents since 1954, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. Their evergrowing love and devotion exemplifies marriage and defines family to their children, Michael, Ron, Mark, and Janice (Ullmeyer), for their ten grandchildren, for their five great- grandchildren, and for all the spouses. Through the years, Mike and Margaret have extended their love to anyone who needed a temporary home and a guiding hand. Even as “empty nesters”, they reached out to countless foster babies who were awaiting adoption. It has been a long road since that bench in Brooklyn. But after 65 years of marriage, you can still catch them holding hands at the dinner table, sneaking a kiss in the kitchen, or playfully competing during their nightly Wheel of Fortune. But rest assured, they will “never go to bed angry!”

The anniversary celebration may be quiet but the impact is resounding to all who know and love them. Sixtyfive years and counting.

They decided on the hot chocolate. The rest is history.
