St. David's preschoolers collect food for the needy

St. David church's preschoolers in Massapequa collected non-perishable food to be delivered to the needy for Thanksgiving, a part of the collection program of the Lutheran Outreach program in Uniondale.

According to Robin Lever, director of St. David's Preschool, "the children are so proud to be a part of making other children and their parents happy for the holiday". Lever added that Lutheran Preschools throughout Long Island have taken part in the program for the past several years.

Shown in the photo are St. David's preschoolers by their turkey with feathers handmade by the children. The fourth grade class sang Thanksgiving songs and displayed their food that was brought to school that day. Director Robin Lever and teacher Carol Semmig, right, are shown in the class photo.
