Albany Avenue students plant a memory for beloved teacher, Patricia Weisbrod
      In memory of Patricia Weisbrod, a beloved special education teacher, the kindergarten students at Farmingdale's Albany Avenue School, planted sunflower seeds during their thematic unit on plants. Sunflowers were one of Weisbrod's favorite plants. These seeds are left to grow and the children are able to see the progress the plant has made when they return as first graders.

Fifth graders at Albany Avenue School conduct business at Commerce Plaza
      Fifth-grade students at Farmingdale's Albany Avenue School spent a day as an adult in the business world. Commerce Plaza offered the students a hands-on learning experience of the business world. The students ran a business community complete with a mayor, a newspaper, a telephone company, a real estate business, warehouse and even a McDonald's.

Fairfield students in Massapequa share food & fun
      O n Tuesday, December 19, 2006 the Stud e n t C o u n c i l f r o m Fairfield Element a r y School in Massapequa went to Parkview Nursery Home in Massapequa. The children sang a variety of familiar Christmas and Hanukah songs, putting residents in the holiday spirit. In addition to caroling, the students and their parents prepared desserts for everyone to enjoy.
