Dozens of rabbits, too young to survive on their own, are being dumped at various locations in the area, including the Massapequa preserve and open areas in Amityville . The Harbor Green Shore Club recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The Massapequa Chaos Boys soccer team started its fall season with a terrific effort against Oyster Bay. The defense of the Chaos, led by Chris Wood, Andrew Marsh and Thomas Kiernan, held back the opponent for 58 minutes. With less than two minutes to play Oyster Bay was able to find the back of the net and hand the Chaos their first loss of the season. More...

Lifelong Massapequa resident and co-designer of the Firefighters Bell Tower in Massapequa Park, Jan Serra, died August 28, 2007. She was 83 years old.
