Massapequa students showcase their talent

Through cooperation and collaboration with the management office of Westfield Sunrise Mall, Massapequa students were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the public at the Westfield Sunrise Mall's food court area. During the holiday season, musicians from the high school, East Lake, McKenna, Birch Lane, and Raymond J. Lockhart, prepared, practiced, and performed medleys of holiday tunes that put shoppers in the spirit of giving. In addition, the management office of Westfield Sunrise graciously presented the district with $7,000 to support music programs, and to provide scholarships for graduating seniors. Trish Ketelson, Marketing Director of Westfield Sunrise, hopes to continue the corporation's partnership with the district. "This is hopefully just the beginning," stated Ketelson. "We would like to continue to support Massapequa's students and programs as an ongoing process."
