Preparations unsatisfactory for holiday showcase at Mall

Dear Editor:

My wife and I have a major squawk with the management of the Westfield Mall, formerly the Sunrise Mall, in Massapequa and and the Massapequa Schools music departments.

The mall management had a full page ad published in Newsday announcing that the Massapequa Schools talent showcase would be held on Monday, December 18 at 5 p.m. in the food court. When we arrived at 4:45 the place was mobbed, there weren't enough chairs and any type of stage set up, so the children that were performing were at the same level as the audience, they couldn't be

seen and the sound system was terrible. The school teachers and a mall representative doing the announcing couldn't be heard at all. It was a big flop. We felt sorry for the six performing Massapequa School children and their parents that were looking forward to a nice early evening of holiday music.

We hope that the next time the showcase is held in the mall there will be a stage and a state of the art sound system. We left after the first performance very disappointed.
